The OHRRPGCE Top 30
Summer of 2009

This was the first Top 30 list in recent memory to only allow private voting, and also the first ever to not allow people to vote for their own games. These new rules appear to have caused some shifts in the rankings, but it might just be a "flavor of the Season" thing. The #1 and #2 choices were extremely close in terms of points.

Biggest Climb: Timpoline
Biggest Drop: Super Walrus Chef: War of the Food
Highest New Entry: Bob the Hamster in the Crypt of Baconthulhu

Fenrir-Lunaris - Vikings of Midgard (2008)

"One of the most well designed standard RPGs on the engine. I could do without the massive wolf breasts, and I wish the latest update didn't end earlier than the previous one, but this game had a ton of love put into it, and it shows. Fenrir made a lot of little changes to this game that made the overall experience a lot more enjoyable." - Surlaw

"A good way to let people know what the engine is capable of, and it is a fairly good game to boot. Not to mention its graphics are superb." - Meatballsub

"The OHRRPGCE's first real roguelike, even if it's not that rogue-like. Impressive and delightful, but its playability is hampered by the lack of a save feature." - Moogle1

A classic, and actually pretty fun despite the somewhat standard gameplay. The setting is nicely cartoony, and the latest version has an awesome minigame! - Camdog

Overall, one of the best games I have played for the OHRRPGCE. With it being almost ten years old now, I'd say that is quite a feat. - Meatballsub

FyreWulff & Charbile - Sword of Jade: Parallel Dreams (2005)

"Still my favorite, despite some obvious problems. Great polish, genuinely interesting gameplay, and probably the only OHR game that really feels like a commercial rpg from the SNES days." - Camdog

"An excellent game, start to finish. The highest-quality game the engine has produced. It's showing its age, though." - Moogle1

JSH357 - Thanksgiving Quest (2004)

"While its humor has lost its charm on me over the years, this game still has some of the best battle balancing in any OHR RPG. I'd still like to see JSH take another shot at the genre." - Surlaw

"Maybe it hasn't aged well, but Thanksgiving Quest still has a soft spot in my heart." - Moogle1

Moogle1 - Timpoline (2008)

"When it comes to scripting, Moogle1 is a genius. His hard work and natural skill when it comes to scripting can easily been seen by playing through this game." - Meatballsub

"In spite of some really frustrating parts, this game is great. I like the nice, simple art, and the controls are extremely smooth. I like this game for its style, for showing what the engine is capable of, and because it's just plain fun." - Surlaw

Pepsi Ranger - Tightfloss Maiden (2009)

"The detail in this game is wonderful. I love the monsters popping up on screen when you're attacked. I loved the animations, especially the chasm jump and the oasis. I love the weird-as-hell twist at the end of the chapter. If I could change anything, the intro would be way, way shorter, but everything else here is golden." - Surlaw
