Ruin is a remake of my first completed OHRRPGCE game,
The Omega.
It was released back on June 25, 2008 under the full name “Attack
Fish Chronicles Volume I: The Omega”. Initially, the game was
slated to be a trilogy, but I decided not to go that route in the end.
Regardless, several changes and additions have been implemented in this
remake:
“Welcome to Terrene; a world that has recently been scarred by
an earthquake of cataclysmic proportions. Times are harsh, and everyone
has been affected by the recent events. You follow the story of a man
that washes up near a small blacksmithing shop with no memory
recollection whatsoever. Through him you will ultimately rediscover his
identity and reveal the truths of the recent catastrophic events. Was
the earthquake merely a natural disaster or something more? Is there
hope to be found in the ruin or is the world coming to an end? Only
time will tell...
You will not find loot tucked away in treasure chests, nor will you
obtain gold from killing beasts outside of town much like you would in
traditional RPGs. If you want to survive in this world; you will have
to work for it. Whether you are harvesting ore in a remote mine for
blacksmithing supplies, skinning animals for clothing material,
gathering animal scraps for use in cooking, or accepting prospects from
local townsfolk for coin; only through hard work and dedication will
you survive another day.“

Haven’t played the original game? This is what you can expect:
- Unique equipment and food creation system that involves
harvesting/gathering minerals/materials. Unlike most RPGs, you
can’t just buy the best gear and be on your way. The world is a
mess, and you have to work to survive.
- Dozens of unique enemies, spells, and items.
- Modern side-questing system that eliminates the often boring
back-tracking to complete tasks.
- Optional; built-in mini-game that allows you to play through the
original OHRRPGCE game that inspired my work; “Fred’s Crazy
Adventures of the Lost World”.
- Both random enemy and boss encounters that require more strategy
rather than spacebar mashing.
- Original soundtrack composed by Nigel “Jabbercat”
McBride.
- A large amount of searchable props. Search everything!
- An additional way to gain experience outside of combat and side
missions.
- 7-10 Hours of game play.
