Pokemon Brown and Beige
A Preview by Master K

To tell you the truth, one of the things I've always wanted to do with the OHR Engine is to create a Pokemon game. However, I never really got around to it. The project would die before it could get off the ground, like many of my other projects. However, this time, something is actually being produced. That something is Pokemon Brown and Beige, the result of finally creating my OHR Pokemon Game.

We already have one Pokemon game like it out there, Puckamon by FnnrfYgmSchnish, which is heavily laden with OHR  and other references and jokes, and made with a single palette. However, this game is going to be different. It's going to be in color, and it's going to have sprites and maptiles that replicate the original Pokemon games. If you recognize a particular design, it's probably because I looked off of the maptiles from an existing game.

The game will have all original Pokemon, which in itself is a challenge, since there are already 649 original ones already existing. However, I'm managing. I already have 25 Pokemon created. I tried to be as original as I could with the starter Pokemon, which are a Grass Bird (Becomes part Flying later on), Water Lizard, and a Fire Bear.

I'm trying my best to replicate the original Pokemon's functions. The PC system has been removed entirely, with an in game explanation as to why. Evolution by item and level are something I want to have, especially by level. Battles are in standard OHR format, however. Tall grass mechanics are already in place. Pokemon catching is not implemented, and I don't know how I should go with it.

I don't know when you should expect Pokemon Brown and Beige, but just know that it is in production. Any Pokemon suggestions are welcome, and they can be posted in my OHR Journal thread on Slime Salad.
